Actor Jung Joon's Emotional Plea Against Online Harassment of Victim's Family

On January 2, actor 정준 (Jung Joon) expressed his outrage towards online trolls targeting the family representative of the victims from a recent airline tragedy. He shared a screenshot of a news report and urged, "Please, let’s not do this. If you are human, don’t act this way."

He continued, "We cannot fathom how painful and difficult this is for them. Let’s quietly offer our condolences and prayers. So please, if you are human, do not behave like this. To the daughter, stay strong. Your father is a wonderful person doing the right thing. Stay strong; I support you, even in a small way."

The shared image highlighted the distress of 박한신 (Park Han-shin), the family representative who lost his brother in the Jeju Air incident, as his daughter pleaded online, questioning the necessity of her father’s role as a representative amidst the spread of false information.

The tragic incident occurred on December 29, when a Jeju Air flight, en route from Bangkok, Thailand, to Muan International Airport, attempted to land without its landing gear deployed, resulting in a collision with airport facilities and a fire that engulfed most of the aircraft. All 179 individuals on board, including 175 passengers and crew members, tragically lost their lives.

In response to the tragedy, Acting President 최상목 (Choi Sang-mok) declared a national mourning period lasting until January 4. This has led to various forms of tribute across the entertainment industry, including the cancellation of year-end award ceremonies, concerts, and delays in uploading YouTube content.
