2PM's Jang Wooyoung Opens Up About His Long-Awaited Solo Comeback

On July 5, Jang Wooyoung of 2PM made an appearance on SBS Power FM's 'Cultwo Show' (두시탈출 컬투쇼) to discuss his long-awaited solo comeback after seven years. During the show, he joined fellow guests, creator RalRal and singer Kim Taehyun, in the 'Love's Call Center' segment.

Jang shared insights about his hiatus from solo activities, stating, "I took a long break from solo work. I was involved in the variety show 'Driver' and participated in 2PM activities while waiting for the right time to return as a solo artist." When asked why his solo comeback took so long, he admitted, "I think I struggled with it myself. The desire to do well made me want to be unnecessarily perfect."

He revealed that he co-wrote and composed his new song 'Simple Dance' with Super Changddai, expressing, "I didn't want to be too serious since it's been a while since my last release. I prepared this with the hope that it would provide comfort to many people."

When asked about the inspiration behind the song, Jang explained, "I enjoy watching fire. I compared it to the feeling of clinging to a small spark. I wanted to convey that by dancing to 'Simple Dance,' we can overcome tough and cold times and find joy again."
