2024 Traveling Popular Music Concert Seeks Musicians for Participation

The Korea Popular Music Performance Industry Association (음공협) is set to host the '2024 Traveling Popular Music Concert,' with musician applications open from December 4 (Wednesday) to December 13 (Friday). Supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this initiative aims to bring diverse performances to culturally underserved areas, enhancing access to popular music.
Musicians will be selected through a fair review process by a selection committee, and further details regarding the application process can be found on the 음공협 website.
The concert will take place in various locations, including: △Samcheok, Gangwon Province △Osan, Gyeonggi Province △Goseong, Gyeongsangnam-do △Cheorwon, Gangwon Province △Haeundae, Busan △Siheung, Gyeonggi Province △Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do △Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province △Gijang, Busan △Nam-gu, Ulsan △Jangheung, Jeollanam-do △Boeun, Chungcheongbuk-do △Yeonggwang, Jeollanam-do △Hwacheon, Gangwon Province. A total of 14 regions were selected through the committee's review in October.
Lee Jong-hyun, president of 음공협, stated, "Through the '2024 Traveling Popular Music Concert,' we aim to invigorate local culture and expand the reach of popular music performances. We plan to offer content that reflects the unique characteristics and needs of the local communities, allowing for a variety of enjoyable performances."
He added, "In a time when opportunities and stages for musicians are limited, we hope this initiative will provide a chance for them to connect with diverse audiences across different age groups."
The 음공협 is known for organizing various popular music events, including concerts, festivals, world tours, and domestic performances, and consists of 46 member companies collaborating to support the future of the popular music industry and the rights of its workers.
