2024 SBS Gayo Daejeon Shines with Star-Studded Performances

The 2024 SBS Gayo Daejeon lit up the year-end celebrations with a spectacular showcase on December 25 at the Incheon Inspire Arena. Hosted by IVE's An Yujin, NCT's Doyoung, and TXT's Yeonjun, the event kicked off with Lee Young-ji dressed as Santa, performing Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas Is You'. After shedding the Santa outfit, she encouraged the audience to embrace the New Year without regrets and performed her new song 'NOT SORRY', receiving enthusiastic applause.

The night continued with dazzling performances from various artists. izna delivered a Christmas remix of 'IZNA', while NEXZ presented a festive version of 'NALLINA'. BABYMONSTER wowed the crowd with their powerful vocals in 'DRIP', and ILLIT, themed around a pajama party, charmed the audience with 'IYKYK' and 'Magnetic', wishing everyone a 'Happy Holiday'.

CRAVITY brought a horror-themed performance with 'Now or Never', followed by WayV's charismatic rendition of 'FREQUENCY'. RIZE set a calm tone with izi's 'Emergency Room' before remixing 'Love119' for the season. NMIXX made a grand entrance with 'DASH' and 'See that?', showcasing their girl crush appeal.

The second part of the show began with Doyoung's enchanting performance of 'Firefly', leading into NewJeans' appearance. They donned bunny hats while performing 'Ditto (250 Remix)', capturing attention after their recent contract termination with Ador. They followed up with 'Cookie + Hype Boy', effortlessly maintaining the stage's lively atmosphere. LE SSERAFIM then took the stage with a powerful live performance of 'CRAZY', demonstrating their flawless synchronization.

The special stages continued with a fairy tale theme, featuring NMIXX's Seolyoon performing a special rendition of Red Velvet's 'Feel My Rhythm'. Following her, ILLIT's Iroha showcased intense choreography to RIZE's 'Siren'. ENHYPEN's Heeseung presented a graceful dance to 'Swan Lake Reimagined', while ATEEZ's Yunho closed this segment with 'Steps to OZ' in red shoes.

Next, the 'maknae line' of fourth-generation boy groups collaborated, forming a new unit called 'Makgangz' with ZeroBaseOne's Han Yujin, TWS's Kyungmin and Jihoon, NCT WISH's Ryo and Sakuya, and BOYNEXTDOOR's Unhak. They performed EXO's 'LOVE ME RIGHT', showcasing youthful charm.

IVE followed with a medley of hits including 'ELEVEN', 'LOVE DIVE', 'AFTER LIKE', 'KITCHI', 'I AM', 'BADDIE', and 'I HAVE TO', teasing their upcoming album with a new stage featuring a powerful drum beat and the lyrics, "Love me, Hate me, You will never be me". aespa then took the stage with 'Pink Hoodie' and 'Supernova'.

In the third part, K-pop legends 2NE1 made a triumphant return after a decade, captivating the audience with their charisma. They performed 'Fire', 'I Don’t Care', 'UGLY', and 'I Am the Best', with CL and Park Bom showcasing their enduring vocal prowess, while Sandara Park and Gong Minzy impressed with their striking visuals and dance skills.

A special collaboration between fourth-generation girl groups was also featured, with aespa's Karina and IVE's An Yujin sharing the stage. Their chemistry was highlighted in a VCR segment where they humorously described each other, leading to a captivating performance of Valerie Broussard's 'Killer'.

The event concluded with the highly anticipated appearance of G-Dragon, marking his first performance at the Gayo Daejeon since 2016. He electrified the audience with his new song 'POWER', along with 'Manjeongsin' and 'Crooked', wrapping up the night with a grand finale as all 29 performing artists took the stage to bid farewell to the year.
