2024 MBC Entertainment Awards to Celebrate 30 Years with Nostalgic Stars and Best Couple Nominees

As the '2024 MBC 방송연예대상' approaches its 30th anniversary, excitement builds with the announcement of the Best Couple nominees. Scheduled to air on December 29, the awards show will feature a teaser video that highlights the legacy of MBC's entertainment programs over the years.

The teaser showcases the hosts Jeon Hyun-moo (전현무), Hyeri (혜리), and Lee Jang-woo (이장우) as they take a nostalgic trip through MBC's iconic shows from the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s. Young Jeon Hyun-moo humorously quotes Lee Kyung-kyu's famous line "Ask the stars" from the hit show 'Today is a Good Day' (오늘은 좋은 날), while a young Lee Jang-woo joyfully shouts out the name of the legendary variety show 'Infinite Challenge' (무한도전), which remains beloved by fans.

Hyeri, dressed in a school uniform, captures attention as she references popular MBC shows like 'I Am a Singer' (나는 가수다), 'god's Parenting Diary' (god의 육아일기), 'We Got Married' (우리 결혼했어요), and 'Three Wheels' (세바퀴). Notably, she mimics the reaction of singer Park Mi-kyung during a performance on 'I Am a Singer', adding to the nostalgic vibe.

The teaser also features Jeon Hyun-moo dancing to the theme song of 'Golden Fishery - Knee Drop Guru' (황금어장 무릎팍도사) and Lee Jang-woo quoting Yang Dong-geun's catchphrase "Let's celebrate" from 'New Nonstop' (뉴 논스톱), hinting at the exciting lineup of stars expected at the awards.

Voting for the Best Couple award is currently open on the official MBC website, allowing fans to choose their favorite duo. Nominees include Park Na-rae (박나래) and Yang Se-hyung (양세형) from 'Home Alone! (구해줘! 홈즈)', Ki-an 84 (기안84) with Kim Dae-ho (김대호) and Lee Jang-woo, Yoo Jae-suk (유재석) and Ha Ha (하하) from 'How Do You Play?' (놀면 뭐하니?), and several others from popular shows.

Park Na-rae and Yang Se-hyung have recently sparked interest with their budding romance on 'Home Alone!', while Ki-an 84 has stirred discussions regarding his affiliations with cast members from 'I Live Alone' (나 혼자 산다) and 'Taekyung's Music Journey' (태계일주).

Fans can vote once per day until the results are revealed live on December 29. Applications for audience attendance are open until December 23, with winners announced on December 26.
