2024 KBS Drama Awards Scheduled, Impacting Other Shows

The recording of the '2024 KBS Drama Awards' has been confirmed for January 11 at 9:20 PM, leading to the cancellation of 'Salim Men 2' (살림하는 남자들2) and 'Korea's Singer in Germany' (나라는 가수 인 독일). According to OSEN's report on January 3, the awards ceremony, hosted by Jang Sung-kyu (장성규), Seo Hyun (서현), and Moon Sang-min (문상민), took place on December 31 at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul. Originally set to be broadcast live on KBS2, the event was postponed due to a national mourning period following a tragic airplane accident, which lasts until January 4 at midnight. KBS has decided to air the recorded ceremony after this mourning period.

KBS has been in discussions to reschedule the broadcast, with January 7 and 11 being the most likely dates. The awards will finally reveal the coveted Grand Prize winner on January 11 at 9:20 PM. Consequently, the scheduled broadcasts of 'Salim Men 2' and 'Korea's Singer in Germany' will be affected, resulting in two consecutive weeks without episodes for 'Korea's Singer in Germany'.

Among the nominees for the Grand Prize at the '2024 KBS Drama Awards' are Lee Soon-jae (이순재) for 'Dog Story' (개소리), Ji Hyun-woo (지현우) and Lim Soo-hyang (임수향) for 'Beauty and the Beast' (미녀와 순정남), Kim Jung-hyun (김정현) and Park Ji-young (박지영) for 'Iron Family' (다리미 패밀리), and Kim Ha-neul (김하늘) for 'Let’s Grab the Collar' (멱살 한번 잡힙시다). The opening show will be directed by Kinky, featuring performances by Kim Da-hyun (김다현), who sang the OST for 'Beauty and the Beast', and the Yuk Joong-wan Family (육중완 패밀리), who performed for 'Iron Family'. Additionally, Ok Joo-hyun (옥주현) and Kim Sung-sik (김성식) will present a duet from the musical 'Mata Hari'.
