2024 KBS Acting Awards Set to Celebrate the Year's Best Performances

The '2024 KBS 연기대상' (KBS Acting Awards) is gearing up to crown the ultimate winner of the year on December 31 at 7 PM. The ceremony will be hosted live by broadcaster 장성규 (Jang Seong-kyu), along with actors 서현 (Seo Hyun) and 문상민 (Moon Sang-min).

This year's awards will reflect on a diverse array of dramas, including mini-series, weekend dramas, daily dramas, and one-act plays, celebrating the laughter and emotions they brought to viewers throughout the year. KBS has filled the small screen with captivating content, starting with the Monday-Tuesday drama '환상연가' (Fantasy Romance) which premiered on January 2, and culminating with the Wednesday-Thursday drama '수상한 그녀' (Suspicious Woman) that aired on December 18. The network has also distinguished itself with daily and weekend dramas, as well as unique one-act plays, enhancing its signature style.

As anticipation builds for who will take home the prestigious Grand Prize, the '2024 KBS 연기대상' has revealed its list of nominees. Among the contenders is the acclaimed actor 이순재 (Lee Soon-jae), recognized for his delightful performance in '개소리' (Dog Story), where he skillfully balanced comedy and seriousness. Other notable nominees include 지현우 (Ji Hyun-woo) and 임수향 (Im Soo-hyang) from the weekend drama '미녀와 순정남' (Beauty and the Beast), as well as 김정현 (Kim Jung-hyun) and 박지영 (Park Ji-young) from '다리미 패밀리' (Ironing Family).

Additionally, 김하늘 (Kim Ha-neul), who delivered a powerful performance in '멱살 한번 잡힙시다' (Let’s Grab the Collar), is also in the running, sparking interest in whether she can win an award after eight years. The excitement continues to build as viewers wonder which actor will claim the coveted trophy and bring a spectacular close to 2024.

The awards will also feature a vibrant lineup of performances. The opening show, directed by the popular MZ generation favorite 킹키 (Kinky), will showcase 25 dancers in a dynamic dance performance celebrating the new year and shedding worries from 2024. Additionally, 김다현 (Kim Da-hyun), who performed the OST '기분 좋은 날' (Good Day) from '미녀와 순정남', and 육중완 밴드 (Yook Joong-wan Band), known for their OST '세상만사' (Everything in the World) from '다리미 패밀리', will perform beloved KBS drama soundtracks. Furthermore, the lead actors from the musical '마타하리' (Mata Hari), 옥주현 (Ok Joo-hyun) and 김성식 (Kim Sung-sik), will sing 'The Prayer', a duet made famous by tenor Andrea Bocelli and pop star Celine Dion, adding a touching melody to the final night of 2024.
