115 Million Subscriber YouTuber Park Mak-rye Prepares for a Solo Wedding
Park Mak-rye, a beloved YouTuber with 1.15 million subscribers, has embarked on a unique journey to prepare for her own wedding. On February 22, her channel released a video titled "Preparing for a Wedding Alone, Today's Meal is Beef Radish Soup!".
In the video description, her granddaughter shared, "This is a dream come true for Grandma! Thanks to makeup artist Sang Eun-won, we fulfilled her wish to wear a wedding dress. Grandma always wanted to wear a wedding dress after seeing wedding scenes in dramas, and I wanted to capture that moment for her. Thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible!"
On the same day, Park Mak-rye visited a shop in Gangnam. She reminisced, saying, "I had an old-fashioned wedding back in the day, wearing a hanbok and a chogori. Watching modern weddings made me wish to wear something like that, and now it's finally happening. I wonder who will be by my side?" Her granddaughter promptly replied, "No one."
After her makeup was done, Park Mak-rye headed to the dress shop, joking, "People will probably think this grandma is getting remarried!" While trying on dresses, she expressed her joy, saying, "I'm so happy. Thank you, Yura!"
However, her granddaughter revealed, "Grandma is upset because there’s no groom. Everything else is perfect, but she feels sad about not having a groom ready. Earlier, she even asked me to stand in for her groom!"
As Park Mak-rye donned the wedding dress, compliments poured in from those around her. Her granddaughter noted, "You wanted to try on a veil, right?" Park Mak-rye was captivated by her reflection in the mirror and expressed her delight when wearing a tiara, saying, "This is wonderful. I love it!"
Her granddaughter teased, "Word will spread in Gangnam that Grandma is getting remarried!" After her fitting, Park Mak-rye marveled at her appearance, exclaiming, "How did they make my waist look so good? They say only brides can wear this in winter. Today, I am a bride!" She then moved on to a photoshoot.
After completing her personal shoot, Park Mak-rye celebrated with guests, creating a scene reminiscent of a bridal waiting room. She playfully told attendees, "I’ll definitely invite you to my wedding!"
Back at home, she enjoyed beef radish soup while reflecting on her day. "Just wearing that dress made me feel so good. Today was fantastic. Thanks to you all for dressing me up!" she said. "I saw brides arriving in taxis and cars on TV, and today, I experienced that too. I went to three places: hair, makeup, and photos. I felt like a bride today!"
She continued, "I made memories that will last a lifetime. Make sure to keep a big photo of us!" Her granddaughter chimed in, "I looked terrible next to you! You were all dolled up in a dress while I was in casual clothes without lipstick!"
Park Mak-rye responded, "I asked who should stand next to me. With so many people around, was there really no one? It was amazing today; it felt just like a wedding, except for the groom. Thank you to everyone who came to my wedding today. If I find a groom, I’ll see you all again!"
