1박 2일 Members Expect Happy Vacation but Face Harsh Reality

In the latest episode of KBS2's variety show 1박 2일 (1 Night 2 Days) aired on December 22, 2024, the cast members set out for what they believed would be a 'Happy Ho-cance' (hotel vacation). However, they were met with the unexpected twist of a 'Happy Hockhans' (harsh winter training).

The six-member team made a grand entrance dressed in stylish suits, walking down a red carpet as they began filming in an upscale party room, a stark contrast to their usual settings. Despite their initial skepticism about the lavish surroundings, they excitedly prepared for a year-end party.

As they settled in, the members quickly began to critique each other's outfits, with particular attention on DinDin's attire. Kim Jong-min jokingly asked, "Did you come in lace? Is that your mother's?" to which Moon Se-yoon quipped, "What did your mother tell you to wear?" DinDin, known for being a fan of G-Dragon, attempted to channel the idol's style but ended up being the butt of the jokes.

Moon Se-yoon then asked Jo Se-ho if there was a billiards tournament that day, to which Jo, dressed in an all-white suit, humorously replied, "That was yesterday," while striking a trick shot pose that had everyone laughing.

The group traveled by bus to their destination, where they engaged in a winter song quiz for a chance to win premium Hanwoo beef. The PD played songs from the 2010s, and Lee Joon quickly identified IU's "Merry Merry Christmas" featuring Thunder, despite the other members' protests about his connection to Thunder, who is also a member of MBLAQ. Moon Se-yoon took the opportunity to send a public invitation to IU to appear on the show.

Later, DinDin recognized Suzy's "Winter Child" from just a brief instrumental, exclaiming, "I’m a winter child! I was born in winter!" Moon Se-yoon again expressed his desire to have Suzy on the show.

Upon arriving at their accommodation, Jo Se-ho discovered a gift box and opened it, triggering an alarming sound that shattered the festive atmosphere. Mysterious men then appeared and took Jo away, leaving him bewildered as he repeatedly said, "I was just told to relax..."

The main PD revealed that the real theme of their trip was 'Happy Hockhans,' a signature winter training for 1박 2일. He announced that the members would need to survive without their phones and personal belongings, although they would be allowed one last phone call. This marked the return of the harsh winter special after three years, with new members Lee Joon and Jo Se-ho facing their initiation.

Following Jo Se-ho, DinDin and Kim Jong-min joined in, and the PD reiterated that they would need to surrender their phones and belongings for the wilderness adaptation. Kim Jong-min, suddenly anxious, expressed concern about losing contact with his girlfriend.

As Jo Se-ho and DinDin worried about setting up their sleeping arrangements, Kim Jong-min was desperate for just one phone call. He asked the PD how long they would be without their phones, to which the PD replied, "Until you check out tomorrow." Kim Jong-min was taken aback, insisting he needed to make a call. DinDin bluntly told him to just hang up if the call wasn’t answered, while Kim Jong-min fretted about informing his girlfriend. Ultimately, he failed to make the call and went to change clothes.

After changing, Kim Jong-min returned to join the other members in a mission to gather survival supplies.
