'책책책 책을 읽읍시다' is in discussions for a revival as web content. On the evening of December 12, an MBC entertainment representative confirmed to OSEN that MBC and Kyobo Bookstore are collaborating to prepare a web variety show based on the beloved program. 

Originally a segment of MBC's '느낌표' (Feeling), '책책책 책을 읽읍시다' featured hosts Kim Yong-man (김용만) and Yoo Jae-suk (유재석) traveling across the country to promote reading, earning a reputation as a 'wholesome variety show' that resonated with many viewers. 

Recently, Kyobo Bookstore piqued interest on their official social media by posting an image reminiscent of the show's logo along with the phrase 'COMING SOON.' This has led to speculation about the show's potential return on various online platforms. 

According to broadcasting insiders, MBC and Kyobo Bookstore are currently in the early planning stages for a web content project inspired by '책책책 책을 읽읍시다.' However, this new content is expected to be a one-time project rather than a regular series, and casting details have yet to be finalized.

The Hamann Cultural Arts Center is set to host a romantic and cozy Christmas concert on Christmas Eve, December 24 (Saturday) at 7:30 PM. The concert will feature a lineup of talented singer-songwriters, including the beloved duo 옥상달빛 (Oksang Dalbit), 윤딴딴 (Yun Ddan Ddan), 정수민 (Jung Soo Min), and 예빛 (Yebit), promising a diverse and engaging performance.

옥상달빛, known for their poetic lyrics that resonate with youth, made their official debut in the music industry in 2010 with the EP ‘옥탑라됴’ (Oktap Radio). They have since captured the hearts of music fans with hits like '없는게 메리트' (Nothing is a Merit), '수고했어 오늘도' (You Did Well Today), and '보호해줘' (Protect Me). Additionally, they have been a familiar voice on MBC FM4U's '푸른밤, 옥상달빛입니다' (Blue Night, This is Oksang Dalbit) as DJs for several years.

Yun Ddan Ddan, a prominent MZ vocalist, debuted in 2014 with '겨울을 걷는다' (Walking in Winter) and has consistently charmed audiences with hits such as '잘 살고 있지롱' (I’m Living Well), '니가 보고 싶은 밤' (A Night I Want to See You), and '잘 해보려는 나 알 수 없는 너' (You Who I Can’t Understand). He has also contributed to beloved OSTs for dramas like KBS2's '도도솔솔라라솔' (Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol), tvN's '김비서가 왜 그럴까' (What's Wrong with Secretary Kim), and KBS2's '너에게 가는 속도 493km' (The Speed Going to You 493km).

Jung Soo Min, originally from Chicago, gained popularity through the Channel A audition program '청춘스타' (Youth Star), where his charming visuals and soft, delicate voice won over many fans. He has built a solid fanbase through his continuous activities and is known for songs like '송 어바웃 유' (Song About You), '위드 유' (With You), '선셋' (Sunset), and '끌리는 대로' (As I’m Drawn).

Yebit began her career by winning a bronze medal at the 29th Yoo Jae Ha Music Competition in 2018 and debuted with the single '날 위해 웃어줘' (Smile for Me) in 2020. She has been actively releasing albums and was selected as a musician in the CJ Cultural Foundation's Tune Up program in 2021, standing out among 92 competitors. Yebit has gained popularity not only for her original songs but also for her unique covers.

A representative from the Hamann Cultural Arts Center stated, “This Christmas concert is a special stage prepared for audiences to enjoy a warm year-end atmosphere. We hope to create unforgettable memories through various artists and stage productions, allowing couples, singles, and families to come together on Christmas Eve to laugh, sing, and share heartfelt moments.”

The K-pop group YOUNG POSSE (영파씨), consisting of members Jeong Seon-hye (정선혜), Wi Yeon-jeong (위연정), Gianna (지아나), Do Eun (도은), and Han Ji-eun (한지은), is set to connect with fans at their winter fan concert titled 'YOUNG POSSE WINTER FAN CONCERT 'HOMECOMING POSSE'' (이하 'HOMECOMING POSSE') today, December 14, at the YES24 Wonder Hall in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul.

'HOMECOMING POSSE' serves as a continuation of their previous fan concert 'THE HUNGRY TOUR - FINAL IN SEOUL,' which took place on November 29. To engage with even more fans, YOUNG POSSE has expanded this encore concert to two performances.

On December 14, renowned filmmaker Park Chan-wook showed his support for citizens attending a rally calling for the impeachment of President Yoon Suk-yeol. According to reports, Park purchased all the baked goods from a bakery cafe located in Yeouido, Seoul, to distribute to the rally participants. 

A staff member from the bakery confirmed that Park made the purchase directly through the owner, stating, "Director Park Chan-wook paid for all the bread today." The bakery owner also took to social media to express gratitude, saying, "All the baked goods today were bought by Director Park Chan-wook to be shared with citizens at the Yeouido rally. We sincerely thank him for this gesture."

The rally is part of ongoing protests demanding the swift impeachment and removal of President Yoon Suk-yeol, who has faced criticism for declaring a state of emergency. A large turnout is expected as the vote on the second impeachment motion against the president approaches. Park's involvement in providing food for the participants highlights his solidarity with the movement.

Previously, a coalition of 88 film industry professionals issued an urgent statement, signed by 6,388 individuals, calling for the president's immediate resignation. Park Chan-wook joined this call, advocating for the impeachment of President Yoon, who has been a source of turmoil in the political landscape.

In addition, other celebrities have also shown support for the rally participants. Singer IU and Girls' Generation's Yuri pre-purchased food and drinks at nearby restaurants and cafes for fans attending the rally. In the latest episode of tvN's entertainment show Tent Outside Europe (텐트밖은 유럽), which aired on December 12, Lee Se-young caught her fellow cast members off guard with her unexpected health struggles. 

While in the car, Lee Se-young appeared unwell, revealing that she was feeling drowsy and had been suffering from an upset stomach for some time. She expressed her discomfort, saying, "Something feels off; I feel bloated and think I might be sick." Despite trying some home remedies, her condition did not improve, leaving her in distress.

After some challenges, the group finally arrived near the campsite. Lee Joo-bin offered a massage as a folk remedy, and Lee Se-young attempted to relieve her discomfort by applying pressure to her hands, showing signs of recovery.

Once they reached the campsite, the members began cooking. Following in the footsteps of Ra Mi-ran, Lee Se-young transformed into a 'little bizarre chef' and, after regaining her strength, joined in on the food segment, bringing laughter to the group. The upcoming variety show 'GD and Friends' (가제), hosted by G-Dragon (지드래곤) and produced by Kim Tae-ho (김태호), is generating significant buzz with its impressive cast. Comedian Jung Hyung-don (정형돈) has already completed filming, and now actress Kim Go-eun (김고은), girl group aespa (에스파), and the unit BSS (부석순) are set to join as guests. 

This new program marks a collaboration between G-Dragon and Kim Tae-ho, who have a long-standing relationship dating back to the 'Infinite Challenge' (무한도전) days. While details about the show remain under wraps, it has been rumored to also be referred to as 'Good Day' (굿 데이). 

Fans are eagerly anticipating the show, especially with G-Dragon's recent solo comeback and his performance at the 2024 MAMA. The chemistry between G-Dragon and Kim Tae-ho, who has been a fan of G-Dragon since their 'Infinite Challenge' days, adds to the excitement. 

The casting lineup is already impressive, starting with Jung Hyung-don, who gained fame for his legendary duet with G-Dragon during the 2013 'Infinite Challenge' music festival. Following him, comedian Jo Se-ho (조세호) is also considering joining the show, further heightening expectations for their comedic chemistry. 

Additionally, several celebrities born in 1988, including actors Kim Soo-hyun (김수현), Im Si-wan (임시완), Jung Hae-in (정해인), and Hwang Kwang-hee (황광희), are set to appear. Hwang Kwang-hee's reunion with G-Dragon and Jung Hyung-don from 'Infinite Challenge' is particularly anticipated. 

Unexpectedly, actors Kim Go-eun and Hwang Jung-min (황정민) are also part of the cast, with Kim Go-eun serving as an ambassador for the same luxury brand as G-Dragon. Their shared interests in fashion will be a focal point of the show. 

In the music realm, G-Dragon's fellow BIGBANG members Taeyang (태양) and Daesung (대성) are expected to support him on this new venture. aespa, BSS, and DAY6 are also slated to make appearances. Currently, 'GD and Friends' is in discussions for scheduling on MBC, with a representative confirming that positive talks are underway for a 2025 airing. If confirmed, this will mark Kim Tae-ho's return to MBC with a new program after leaving the network in December 2021.

She married taekwondo athlete Shin Min-cheol in 2020 and welcomed her first son in February 2022. In June, she announced her second pregnancy, stating, "Siwoo is getting a little brother!" She noted that the experience has been quite different this time around, with her baby bump appearing more quickly and various symptoms differing from her first pregnancy. The baby, nicknamed 'Ddaengkong', was born on December 11. On December 12, she posted on her social media, "Ddaengkong was born yesterday!! Thank you for coming to us, Ddaengkong. I still can't believe I'm a mom of two boys. Let's do well together! I'm so grateful to everyone who supported us. Both Ddaengkong and I are healthy." Former Wonder Girls Member Hyelim Welcomes Second Son

On December 12, 2024, the Supreme Court of South Korea confirmed the acquittal of Heo Young-in, the chairman of SPC Group, who was accused of instructing the sale of affiliate stocks at a low price to evade gift taxes. This ruling follows a previous Supreme Court decision in June that annulled a fine of 64.7 billion won imposed by the Fair Trade Commission due to allegations of unfair support to affiliates in 2020.

The Supreme Court's second division, led by Justice Park Young-jae, upheld the lower court's ruling of not guilty for Heo, as well as for Jo Sang-ho, the former CEO of SPC Group, and Hwang Jae-bok, the former representative of SPC. 

The charges stemmed from a transaction in December 2012, where Heo and others were accused of transferring shares of Milldawon, a flour production company owned by SPC affiliates Shani and Paris Croissant, to another affiliate, Samlip, at a price of 255 won per share. This price was significantly lower than the acquisition cost of 3,038 won in 2008 and the fair market value of 1,595 won determined by prosecutors. The prosecution argued that Heo intended to avoid approximately 700 million won in gift taxes related to the 'work allocation' scheme introduced in January of that year, which imposes taxes on profits gained from directing work to companies where family members are shareholders.

However, both the first and second trials concluded that the method of stock valuation was not illegal and that there was no evidence of intentional wrongdoing by the defendants. The Supreme Court reiterated that there was no misinterpretation of the law in the original not guilty verdict.

Heo's attorney, Seong Chang-ho from the law firm Kim & Chang, stated that the transfer of Milldawon shares was lawful, devoid of any illicit intent, and aimed at improving the company's governance structure for its benefit, a point that has now been conclusively affirmed.

On December 12, 2024, Son Tae-seung (65), the former chairman of Woori Financial Group, appeared at the Seoul Southern District Court for a pre-arrest interrogation regarding allegations of improper loans amounting to 46 billion KRW to his relatives. The court rejected the prosecution's request for an arrest warrant, stating that there remains a dispute over whether Son conspired in the alleged crimes. Judge Han Jeong-seok emphasized the need to protect the defendant's rights, noting that the evidence presented did not sufficiently prove collusion in the alleged wrongdoing.

During the hearing, Son refrained from answering questions from reporters about whether he directly ordered or condoned the improper loans, if he influenced promotions for employees who approved the loans, or why he changed his phone before a search and seizure.

Previously, on November 26, the court had dismissed the prosecution's initial warrant request, citing insufficient evidence to establish a conspiracy or specific involvement in the alleged crimes. The court remarked that while some of Son's statements appeared dubious, this alone did not justify fears of evidence tampering or flight risk.

Following the initial dismissal, the prosecution conducted further investigations, re-summoning Son on December 6 to gather more evidence regarding his involvement in the loans approved by Woori Bank and Woori Financial Savings Bank from April 2020 to January 2024. However, they failed to secure conclusive evidence to warrant his arrest, with Son reportedly denying most allegations during the investigation.

Rapper Rhymer (라이머) recently shared his thoughts following his divorce. On December 11, he launched his YouTube channel '김행복C' and released his first video titled '라이머 아님 아무튼 아님'. In the video, Rhymer reflected on his 28-year music career, expressing gratitude for his experiences as a rapper and as the CEO of Brand New Music, but lamented that he feels he hasn't left a personal legacy as Kim Se-hwan (김세환). He stated, 'I need to find happiness and value in my life as a person, Kim Se-hwan. I want to document my journey without making it too grand.' 

When asked by the production team if there was anything that would make him happy right now, Rhymer replied, 'The happiest thing would be wanting to meet someone. If I had a really good partner.' He admitted to having considered starting a channel before but hesitated, fearing it might sound strange. He noted that searching for 'Rhymer' on YouTube mostly yields clips from his past shows with his ex-wife, rather than authentic content of himself. 

He emphasized, 'There are no real videos of me. While music videos and broadcasts show a version of me, this platform allows me to present my true self.' Rhymer also shared that he feels lonely at times, despite recognizing that he is becoming a better person and that his situation is improving. He acknowledged that even though he is doing better economically and socially than in the past, aging has led to some loss of confidence. 

Rhymer was married to interpreter and broadcaster Ahn Hyun-mo (안현모) in 2017, but they announced their divorce in November of last year.
